Benchmarks for c7g.large (AWS)

Individual CPU benchmark results for the AWS EC2 instance type c7g.large. The table displays the single-threaded CPU speed as reported by the Passmark benchmark tool, as well as the on-demand, spot pricing, and spot interruption percentage.

See the benchmarks for all EC2 instances.

✅ This instance type is available for self-hosted GitHub Actions runners using RunsOn.

EC2 Instance family: c7g

The EC2 c7g instance type is powered by Arm-based AWS Graviton3 processors, which are custom-designed by AWS to provide high price-performance for compute-intensive workloads. These processors offer significant performance improvements over their predecessors, including up to 25% better compute performance, up to 2x higher floating-point performance, and up to 2x faster cryptographic workload performance compared to AWS Graviton2 processors. For machine learning workloads, Graviton3 processors can deliver up to 3x better performance and support bfloat16. The c7g instances are built on the AWS Nitro System, which offloads traditional virtualization functions to dedicated hardware and software, enhancing security and maximizing resource efficiency.

A key feature of the c7g instances is that they are the first in the cloud to incorporate Double Data Rate 5 (DDR5) memory, providing 50% higher memory bandwidth compared to DDR4 memory found in previous generations. They also offer enhanced networking capabilities, with up to 30 Gbps of network bandwidth, and support for Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) in larger instance sizes like 16xlarge and bare-metal. For applications requiring high-speed, low-latency storage, there's a variant, C7gd, which includes local NVMe-based SSD block-level storage. The general availability of EC2 c7g instances was announced on May 23, 2022, with a preview beginning around November 30, 2021.
