Benchmarks for c7a.large (AWS)

Individual CPU benchmark results for the AWS EC2 instance type c7a.large. The table displays the single-threaded CPU speed as reported by the Passmark benchmark tool, as well as the on-demand, spot pricing, and spot interruption percentage.

See the benchmarks for all EC2 instances.

EC2 Instance family: c7a

The Amazon EC2 C7a instance type is powered by 4th generation AMD EPYC processors, codenamed Genoa, which feature a maximum frequency of 3.7 GHz. These compute-optimized instances deliver up to 50% higher performance compared to the previous C6a instances. The C7a instances were generally made available on October 4, 2023.

Key features of the C7a instances include the use of DDR5 memory, providing 2.25 times more memory bandwidth than C6a instances. They support advanced processor capabilities such as AVX-512, VNNI, and bfloat16, making them suitable for workloads like convolutional neural network-based algorithms, financial analytics, and video encoding. C7a instances are built on the AWS Nitro System, offer up to 50 Gbps of networking bandwidth, and up to 40 Gbps bandwidth to Amazon EBS, allowing attachment of up to 128 EBS volumes per instance. They also include support for continuous memory encryption via AMD's Secure Memory Encryption (SME) and enhanced security with AES-256.
