Benchmarks for m8i.large (AWS)
Individual CPU benchmark results for the AWS EC2 instance type m8i.large
. The table displays the single-threaded CPU speed as reported by the
Passmark benchmark tool, as well as the on-demand, spot pricing, and spot
interruption percentage.

EC2 Instance family: m8i
The Amazon EC2 m8i instances are powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, offering a sustained all-core turbo frequency of 3.9 GHz. These instances are built on the AWS Nitro System and utilize DDR5 7200MT/s DIMMs. Specific features include up to 15% better price performance, 20% higher performance, and 2.5 times more memory bandwidth compared to the previous M7i generation. They also boast a 4.6 times larger L3 cache, enhanced built-in accelerators like Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) with FP16 support, and always-on memory encryption. M8i instances provide up to 384 vCPUs and 1.5 TB of memory, with bare metal options available. They also leverage new sixth-generation AWS Nitro Cards, delivering up to two times more network and Amazon EBS bandwidth, and support bandwidth configuration adjustments between network and Amazon EBS bandwidth.
These general-purpose instances are designed for a wide array of workloads, including web and application servers, databases, microservices, enterprise applications, large application servers, gaming servers, CPU-based machine learning, and video streaming that require substantial instance sizes or continuous high CPU utilization. The EC2 m8i instance type was released on August 28, 2025.
