RunsOn v2 is being deprecated
RunsOn v2 will reach end of life on September 15, 2026, instead of July 31. RunsOn v3 is stable and the migration guide is ready.

With v3 stable and in production, it is time to draw a line on v2.
RunsOn v2 will reach end of life on September 15, 2026. This was previously scheduled for July 31, 2026. After September 15, v2 will only receive critical bug fixes: no new features, no v3 backports, only narrow fixes for regressions that affect production stability.
The stack will not stop working on that date though. It just won’t get new features, and non-critical issues will not be fixed. The right move is to migrate before then.
How to migrate#
Deploy a fresh v3 stack, register the new GitHub App, test representative workflows, then move traffic over. Full details in the v3 migration guide ↗.
If you had a heavily customized v2 CloudFormation stack, read the guide before touching anything. Some v2 parameters are now intentionally absent from CloudFormation and belong in Terraform/OpenTofu ↗.
September 15 is your target. The migration guide is the place to start.
